The wind wanted to take the leaf on a journey, promising to show it the wonderful outside world.

The leaf was unsure and asked the tree for advice.

As it was leaving, it asked the tree, “Why didn’t you try to keep me?”

The tree replied, “There are many leaves, not just you.”

The leaf then asked the wind, “Why do you want me?”

The wind sincerely answered, “Because there are no two leaves that are the same.”
風真誠地回答：「因為世界上沒有兩片相同的葉子。」
The leaf was silent. Was it that the tree didn’t understand love, or was the wind too persistent?

The tree asked the leaf, “Why do you want to leave?”

The wind asked the leaf, “Why do you want to come with me?”

The leaf joyfully said, “Because you gave me dreams and can fulfill them.”
葉子欣喜地說：「因為你給了我幻想，並能滿足我。」
As the leaf was curiously looking at the world, the wind stopped.
當葉子好奇地看著世界時，風停了。
The leaf fell to the ground, and a car ran over it.
於是葉子飄落在地上，一輛汽車把葉子壓碎了。
The tree was very sad and regretted not holding on to the leaf tightly.
樹很傷心，它後悔自己沒有緊緊抓住葉子。
The wind kept blowing, without a trace of sadness, saying, “I fulfilled your wish, but you have to pay an equal or greater price.”
風繼續吹著，絲毫沒有傷感，說：「我滿足了你的願望，但你必須付出相等甚至更高的代價。」
